Duncan – Tsiki Tsiki (South Africa)
South Africa celebrates a comeback of old school kwaito mixed with hip-hop. “Tsiki Tsiki” by upcoming Durban hip-hop cat Duncan remixes the same titled kwaito classic by one of the genre’s pioneers M’du himself. Even though there has always been songs mixing the vibes of kwaito and hip-hop it is only recently that South African hip-hop producers, many of them used to copy the sound of Drake, Kanye West or Kendrick Lamar are looking for musical inspiration in their own country.
Watch out for that new wave of kwaito about to hit you: this is but a beginning. Tsiki Tsiki yo!
