Kenya’s urban soul singer Fena is a #FENAMENON just like the title of her debut album. Coming from a musical family she started as a background singer for Kenya’s urban female artists Muthoni the Drummer Queen (MDQ) and Dela Maranga. 2008 Fena won „Fête de la Musique“, a singing competition at the Alliance Francaise in Nairobi.
Fena‘s music is a mix of neo- and afro-soul, reggae, hip-hop and house, she would describe as ‘urban soul’. Recently she had the chance to hold up Kenya’s flag high, when she was welcoming Nigerian rapper Olamide at Coke Studies in Nairobi a programm broadcasted across Africa. Kenya’s urban soul artist strikes back with a new video where she’s celebrating all African Kings. An East African urban soul jam produced by Nairobi’s one and only Jaaz Odongo.
