The nickname of Madagascar’s capital Antananarivo is Tana. That is where this soulful hiphop jam comes from. It is produced by rapper and composer Don Smokilla from Gasy Ploit Production. He also runs a TV show called „In DA SPOT“ focusing and featuring artist interviews of the Malagsy HipHop scene.
This song, ‘Misaotra’ is from one of the most active rappers called Agrad. He talks about the separation of a loving couple. The guy thanks his ex-girlfriend for the wonderful time they spent. And still if they don’t stay together anymore, they can remain good friends. The title of the song ‘Misaotra’ is Malagasy and translates into ‘Thank you!’.
